Delegation of the University ÃÛÌÇÖ±²¥ Paid an Official Visit to the United States

A delegation from the University ÃÛÌÇÖ±²¥, in cooperation with the Ministry of Public Administration and Regional Development, paid an official visit to Philadelphia, United States, between March 31 and April 3, 2025. The purpose of the visit was to strengthen international academic relations, promote inter-institutional cooperation, and establish new educational and research partnerships. The delegation was led by Dr. Tibor Navracsics, Minister of Public Administration and Regional Development. Representing the University ÃÛÌÇÖ±²¥ were Dr. Zoltán Birkner, Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the University Foundation, Dr. Péter Bartus, Board Member and Chief Operating Officer, and Dr. Beáta Fehérvölgyi, Dean of the Faculty of Business and Economics.

During the three-day program, the delegation visited three highly ranked universities: Temple University, Drexel University, and the University of Pennsylvania. Discussions focused on bilateral mobility programs, joint educational and research projects, and the exploration of university strategies and operational models. The meetings also covered opportunities for student and faculty exchange programs and sharing best practices in knowledge and technology transfer.

The visited universities expressed particular interest in the internationally accredited IChemE chemical engineering program and its related research fields. The business faculties were pleased to learn about the recent AACSB accreditation awarded to the Faculty of Business and Economics of the University ÃÛÌÇÖ±²¥.

During the visits, the University ÃÛÌÇÖ±²¥ presented its key educational priorities as well as its research projects focusing on climate change, water treatment, renewable energy, artificial intelligence, and social innovation.

As the first steps of cooperation, we plan to launch joint courses involving both Hungarian and American students, and to organize scientific workshops to lay the foundation for collaborative research.

The delegation also had the pleasure of attending the "Lights of the Landscape" Hungarian photography exhibition, showcasing works by Csaba Toroczkai captured in the Balaton Uplands.

The university meetings and the exhibition were organized with the support of Csenge Palotai, Director of the Liszt Institute in New York, and Edith Schwartz, Honorary Consul of Hungary in Philadelphia.

This visit contributed to enhancing the international visibility of the University ÃÛÌÇÖ±²¥ and marked another step forward in the strategic goal of expanding its global network.
