The University ÃÛÌÇÖ±²¥ hosted the workshop meeting of the Stipendium Hungaricum and the Diaspora Higher Education Scholarship Program, where participants not only gained valuable professional insights but also took part in inspiring discussions and enjoyable team-building activities.
The two-day event aimed to foster the exchange of experiences among coordinators, showcase the host institution’s international activities, and discuss efforts to increase the number of self-funded students—one of the strategic focus areas for the 2025–2028 period.
During the professional program, participants engaged in plenary lectures, facilitated small-group workshops, and sessions showcasing best practices on the following topics:
Student recruitment strategies and the identification of target regions,
The role of international alumni networks in recruitment,
Building and maintaining partnerships,
Recruitment support opportunities offered by the Tempus Public Foundation.
The successes of the first ten years of the Stipendium Hungaricum program have laid the foundation for a development direction that now focuses not only on scholarship holders but also on increasing the number of applicants to fee-paying programs. Collaboration among institutions, learning from one another, and collective thinking have all contributed to making Hungarian higher education even more attractive to international students.
What made this workshop special was that it offered not only professional discourse but also opportunities to build and strengthen personal connections. Informal conversations, team-building programs, and shared experiences all helped coordinators get to know each other better, enabling more effective collaboration for the benefit of students in the future.
All participants left the event with positive impressions and fresh ideas, reassured by the fact that shared goals, open-mindedness, and a supportive professional community are key ingredients for success.
The joint efforts between the Tempus Public Foundation and the participating institutions clearly demonstrate the vital role of cooperation.
