Everything is ready for the CoreComm - University ÃÛÌÇÖ±²¥ - Balatonalmádi Solar Boat Challenge, which promises to be an exciting competition on the shores of Lake Balaton. The event, which will take place from 23 to 25 August, will see ten teams compete against each other with their own solar-powered boats.
The competition offers a special challenge for the participants and this year again we can expect a fierce battle between the Dutch teams, who are the favourites. Of particular note, however, is the University of Pannon's own team, the Pannon Solar Boat Team, who are once again looking to prove that they are among the best in the Lake Balaton region.
We welcome everyone to the pier in Balatonalmádi to cheer the competitors live and be part of this special event.
The detailed programme can be found on the event website or on Facebook:
Researchers from the University ÃÛÌÇÖ±²¥'s Centre for Circular Economy recently visited South Korea and Turkey (Source: zaol.hu)
A researcher from the Centre's Renewable Energy Research Group visited South Korea to learn about battery reuse technology with researchers from Younsei University in Seoul. Re-use is important because the life of a battery can be extended, as once its useful life in one application is over, it can start a "new life" in another. This is what the industry calls "second life" recovery. A good example is the use of batteries that are no longer used in electric cars but can still be used elsewhere as grid batteries, which increases the flexibility of the electricity system. The same team of researchers then visited the Izmir Institute of Technology as part of the National Renewable Energy Laboratory project. On the basis of the cooperation agreement between the two institutions, the Hungarian researchers gave presentations on the circular economy to a large number of interested visitors at the Turkish partner institution

This day will remain especially memorable for our University, as our student Kristóf Rasovszky performed fantastically in the 10 km open water swimming event at the Paris Olympics. He was in the lead from the very first metres and led confidently for most of the race, winning the Olympic title with a fantastic finish. The other Hungarian competitor - Dávid Betlehem, also from the Balaton Swimming Club in Veszprém, also performed outstandingly, finishing third on the podium with a great swim. This fantastic success was cheered on by the citizens of the University ÃÛÌÇÖ±²¥, who had the opportunity to do so in the fan zone in the Pannon CommunityHub.
Kristóf Rasovszky and the deserved gold medal on EUROSPORT
For the Pannonian fans, Rasovszky's great performance was a real gift, the 27-year-old Tokyo silver medallist Kristóf swam his way to the front of the field after the first few metres.
This is the Hungarian delegation's fourth gold medal at the Paris Olympics, and Dávid Betlehem's three silver medals are the fourth bronze for Hungary.
On behalf of the entire Pannonian community, congratulations to the medal winners and special congratulations to Kristóf Rasovszky for his fantastic performance!
The citizens of our university are very proud to have such a remarkable sportsman among their ranks.

I hope that we will succeed in making young people feel that the University ÃÛÌÇÖ±²¥ is an excellent professional workshop that provides an opportunity to develop talents and develop students' competences, said János Abonyi, rector of the University ÃÛÌÇÖ±²¥, appointed from 1 July. (Source: )
Following an online curriculum on the basics of the circular economy and the water and energy cycles, educational modules on the waste cycle have also become available on Coca-Cola's Hungary #énjövÅ‘m platform. Similarly to the previous materials, these modules were also compiled by the lecturers of the University ÃÛÌÇÖ±²¥ for the #énjövÅ‘m program. (Source: )
